about

Elzic's Farewell: Written 1889 by Kentucky-born fiddler Harvey G. Elswick, later a legend was later attached that it was played by a fiddler on his way to the civil war. Still later, a recovering Singer/Songwriter who knew almost nothing about traditional music added a slinky groove and the chords from Diana Ross' "upside down"

Greasy Coat: No, it's old-school euphemism for condom like everyone says. But I guess you never let the facts get in the way of a good story. Regardless, it's a cool, weird tune in A dorian. I've heard it played with both major and minor chords accompanying it. Here it's played minor with chord progression nicked from every EDM album I've every owned, all one of them.

Jerry Rockwell dulcimer tuned A-A-aa

lyrics

I don’t drink and I don’t smoke,
and I don’t wear no greasy coat.

I don’t cuss and I don’t chew,
and I don’t go out with the girls that do.

I don't kiss and I don't tell
And all you sinners gonna go to hell
