about

Requiem (the first tune) is pretty much lifted wholesale from the Tony Levin tune "Jewels" of his "World Diary" album. I loved the progression, but not Bill Bruford's fake marimba or whatever it is.

I took the time to properly learn Al d'Ossche's anthem and deeply regret it. Had I gone with what I mis-remembered I would have come up with what I think was a more interesting arrangement. Not that his arrangement is a lacking in way mind you. But I think that building on what came before to make something new is more in the spirit of what Al would have wanted
